About Cleopatra
Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator (commonly known simply as Cleopatra) was Queen of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt from 51 to 30 BC, and was the last active Greek pharaoh. She’s famous for her intelligence, political acumen, and her relationships with the Roman leaders Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, which were crucial in influencing Roman politics and the fate of Egypt. She spoke multiple languages and was a well-educated ruler. Contrary to popular culture, she was known for her brilliance rather than her beauty! We’d love to introduce you to a spectacular older gal who honestly feels a bit self-conscious when compared to her namesake. She only speaks two languages (dog and human), she doesn’t even know the name of the president, and she’d much prefer to discuss dinner options to politics. We assure her that she has nothing to worry about- her sparkling personality will surely make up for her lack of knowledge of current and historical affairs. Volunteers love Cleopatra- here’s what they’ve said: “This was my first time meeting Cleopatra in her kennel. She leashed up easily and immediately did her business when we got outside. In the yard, she stayed right by my feet for snuggles and she gave me lots of licks and kisses to my face. She takes treats gently and knows the sit command. What a sweet and gentle little senior girl with the cutest little underbite. She would love to be treated like the queen that she is!” “I met Cleopatra for the first time today. She was excited to be going for a walk and was polite while being leashed. She began pulling as we exited the building; it turns out she loves another volunteer who was standing several feet away. Once she got to say “hello” she settled quickly. In the yard she leaned in for affection.” Cleopatra would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home, or would love to hog all your attention as your one and only! At nine years old, Cleopatra is a senior gal who is looking for a safe and comfy retirement home. Her wild puppy days are behind her and she’s hoping to spend her golden years relaxing and taking it slow. Cleopatra is ready to give her whole heart to you- come meet her today!
