About Dexter

Dexter Limburger is a huge goof, tipping the scales at around 80lbs with the energy of a kid who never learned the rules. True to his husky roots, Dexter charges ahead on leash and shows a stubborn streak, especially when it comes to food. Early on, he was pretty unruly—jumped up, barked for attention, didn’t want his collar grabbed, and tried to see what he could get away with. But in the time he’s been in care, Dexter has made real progress. He’s learning to walk better on leash and is starting to settle down, though the cheeky, playful attitude is still there. Dexter loves giving hugs, splashing in his wading pool, and going on car rides. He’ll sit on command, offer his paw before meals, and gets along well with other dogs (especially puppies). With cats, he’s likely to be gentle but wants to play, so supervision is key. He’s fully house trained and will hold it for a long time if needed. Dexter craves both attention and leadership—he’ll thrive with someone who knows northern breeds and can give him the structure and patience he needs. When he feels secure, you’ll have a goofy, affectionate companion who’s happy to soak up belly rubs and be your oversized lap dog. Fun fact: Dexter’s birthday is August 6, making him a Leo. No surprise he likes to be the center of attention. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
