Proton is a large, neutered male Domestic Short Hair with striking black and white coloring. He’s just over two years old and has a short coat that’s easy to care for. Proton is fully vaccinated, house trained, and currently living in Holly, MI. He loves the company of other cats and enjoys both wet and dry food. His rescue has ensured he’s neutered and up to date on age-appropriate shots.

About Proton

Proton came to rescue after his previous owner passed away, and he’s still figuring out the world. He’s a large black and white domestic shorthair, a bit shy at first but warms up with play and food. Proton shares a close bond with his brother Electron—they both light up around toys and mealtime, so we’d love for them to go home together and are offering a reduced adoption fee if they’re adopted as a pair. Proton enjoys the company of other cats and does well with those who understand gentle boundaries, especially children who know not to pick him up. Although he hasn’t lived with dogs, a calm dog with slow introductions would be fine. He’s neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped (with lifelong enrollment included), and uses the litter box reliably. The rescue provides practical advice for introducing Proton to new spaces and companions—start him in a single room, introduce other animals slowly, and don’t move the litter box much in the beginning. His vet care is current, and the rescue sends home medical records, a handout on feline respiratory health, and starter food for a smooth transition. Proton’s birthday makes him a Sagittarius, often playful and eager to explore, even if it takes a little time. With patience and the right fit, he'll become a loyal companion. Ready to fall in love?
