About Rosco

Rosco has had a rough start, but he’s resilient and looking for a true forever home. He’s a loving, bright, and active little dog with a strong will—he needs a steady family offering calm guidance and firm boundaries. While Rosco loves daily walks and will be jogging-ready once he finishes healing, his intense prey drive makes him unsuited to homes with cats or other small pets. Rosco is crate trained, though still working on full house training. Despite the cruelty he endured, Rosco hasn’t lost his ability to trust; he’ll thrive under a confident owner who understands he’s smart and sometimes tests rules. His story isn’t easy to hear: Rosco survived being abandoned with his mouth taped shut and serious injuries. Compassionate strangers brought him to safety, and thanks to their quick thinking, he’s on the mend. Now he just needs the right person or family to shepherd him forward. Medical care, including heartworm treatment and recovery from injuries, is ongoing. Paws Animal Rescue will handle his vet bills, so adopters can focus on giving him love and structure. Questions about Rosco

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Rosco, being a mix of Lancashire Heeler and Miniature Pinscher, generally does best in an environment where he can receive regular attention and exercise. A home with a yard or access to daily walks suits him well.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Both Lancashire Heeler and Miniature Pinscher breeds enjoy outdoor activities. Rosco would benefit from a secure yard or frequent walks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided until his recovery is complete.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Rosco's breeds are energetic and smart, often good with respectful, older children. Because of his high prey drive and need for structure, supervision with younger kids is recommended.
