Ivory arrived at the rescue with her companion Misu after being left at a high-intake shelter, but she quickly turned into a bright spot for everyone she meets. Those first days, she was a little down and under the weather, but now she’s come alive. There’s a quiet charm to Ivory; her spirit shines when you simply call her name, and her tail wags even harder if you remind her she’s a good girl. Ivory is slightly vision impaired, but you’d hardly notice. She handles herself well, both inside and on leash walks, and adapts to new surroundings with little fuss. Expect a dog who collects toys—not to destroy, but to pile them up for company on her bed or the couch, and who gives hip hugs if you let her get close enough. If you engage with her on a walk, she’ll make you laugh with her quirky, playful side. While she can be good with other dogs, Ivory would do best with a laid-back canine companion and understanding handlers who can ensure a safe, stable space—especially if her sight grows worse in the future. She’s house trained, medium in size, and makes an excellent lounging partner.
