Ivory’s story is full of close calls and second chances. She arrived at a high-kill shelter alongside her companion Misu, both nearly out of time before rescue stepped in. Since landing in foster care, Ivory has dropped her shell and shown exactly what makes her special. She’s a gentle, funny soul who thrives on attention—say her name or call her a good girl, and she beams. Ivory is slightly vision impaired, but she’s so adaptive that you’d barely notice. On walks, she comes alive, engaging and seeking out playful moments, and walks on leash happily. She has a charming way of asking for attention, drawing people in with her antics and giving signature hip hugs when allowed. Collecting toys is a favorite hobby—she wants them all but never destroys them. Ivory is smart and very in tune with her people, even chattering back when spoken to. She loves naps, lounging, and will shine as a loyal couch companion. While she gets along with many other dogs, she needs a calm, non-reactive canine roommate if there’s to be one. Ivory has a digging quirk, probably a habit from being outdoors, though she’s proven she does well inside. She requires an adopter ready for the possibility her vision could diminish further and understands the commitment this means for her future.
