About Schaefer

They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Schaefer is a pure-bred German Shepherd looking for an experienced and loving forever home. DNA tested as 100% GSD, this big, intelligent boy weighs in at 140 pounds and isn't quite past his first birthday—he needs ample space, ideally acreage with a secure fence, to thrive. Houses with no shared walls are a must, as Schaefer is reactive and has a powerful bark. He enjoys socializing with other dogs of all sizes and is very smart, but will benefit from ongoing training and plenty of structure to blossom into your perfect companion. Schaefer has grown up in rescue since he was just 8 weeks old, and now truly deserves a family of his own. Please note: his new home must not have cats or young children. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
