About Roo
Roo, affectionately called Roo-Roo or Rooster, is a young Black Lab with about a year under her belt. She tips the scale at around 60 lbs and sports a medium black coat. Roo was found running with her bully buddy Peppa and taken in when no one claimed them—Peppa's since been adopted, but Roo is looking for her own home now. Her energy sits comfortably at medium: expect bursts of play, the occasional tumble, and daily zoomies, though she’s truly happiest stretched out and snuggling. Roo is equal parts curious and clumsy, with puppy eyes that can melt anyone. She takes her cues from her confident foster brother and needs another playful, self-assured dog in her new home. She currently lives with a cat and might try to play-chase, but she’s manageable with dog-savvy felines. Strangers make Roo nervous. Expect barking and a little growl at first, but give her a little time, patience, and something delicious—her wall comes down and a devoted snuggler emerges. Roo knows sit (most of the time) and tends to follow the lead of other dogs. She is about 95% house trained, does well in a crate, and loves curling up with family in bed. For her, kids 10+ are best; she startles easily and little kids add too much chaos. Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Roo is ready for a fresh start nearby in CT and surrounding states.
