About Roo
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Meet Roo, affectionately known as Roo-Roo or Rooster, a lovely young Black Labrador Retriever ready to find her forever home. Roo is about one year old and has the sweetest, silliest personality you’ll ever meet. She’s medium energy for a Lab—expect daily playtime, zoomies, and an overall chill vibe when the day winds down. Her foster notes her as a clumsy, curious, and sometimes ditzy girl who is always watching the neighborhood and finding ways to make everyone smile. Snuggling up with her foster family and doggy brother is Roo’s idea of a perfect evening—she adores other dogs and requires a home with a confident, playful canine companion. Squeaky toys, bones, cheese, and hot dogs are her favorite treats (and yes, she will play with her food before eating it!). Roo is a fantastic cuddler with adorable puppy eyes and little snores that are bound to melt your heart. New people can make Roo nervous; she will bark and sometimes give a little growl, but it’s always just nerves—patience and high-value treats help her come around and show off her affectionate side. Because of her shy spirit, she is best suited to families with children 10 years and up and settles in best when things are calm. She has experience living with dog-savvy cats and might try to play or give chase. Roo is 95% housetrained and reliably crate trained. She is spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Adoptable to residents in Connecticut and nearby states. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
