About Pops
Pops is a 4.5-year-old mixed-breed dog (border collie, staffy, shepherd, and Black Labrador Retriever) who came from tough beginnings—he and his puppies were dropped at a vet sick with parvo. While his puppies bounced back quickly, Pops fought hard and spent extra time in the hospital. Since recovering, he spent two months at a board and train and has thrived with structure and continued training in foster care. Pops is sharp, eager to work, and knows a long list of commands—heel, sit, paw, middle, and more. Fetch is the fastest way to his heart, and he's happiest when he's playing, learning, or getting belly rubs (just don’t expect couch snuggles). He has a medium-high energy level, perfect house manners, and is both crate- and house-trained. Pops socializes well with other playful dogs but does not get along with cats or children. He’s wary with strangers, so slow introductions are a must, but he builds strong bonds when given time and trust. His ideal adopter will be committed, consistent, and enjoy sharing active pursuits as well as quiet time together. Pops is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Born April 1, he’s an Aries—a sign known for energy and a love of adventure. Pops is in Torrington, CT, and looking for a person just as loyal and dedicated as he is. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
