About Maya
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Maya is searching for her next loving home after her family's life changed and their household grew. Now 8 years old, this vibrant shepherd truly prefers a quiet environment with no young children, as she's not comfortable sharing her space with little ones. If you are looking for a playful, active companion, Maya could be the perfect match—fetch is her absolute favorite game, and she'll never turn down a good run or a leisurely walk. This clever girl delights in sleeping on soft beds, watching the world go by through the window (though she's quick to alert you to any passersby—with a special dislike for FedEx trucks!). Her repertoire of tricks includes sit, stay, sit pretty, lay down, spin, and up, making her an entertaining and smart companion. Maya enjoys car rides with her head out the window and loves cooling off in a paddling pool in the summer months. Maya gets along best with smaller dogs and, with a gentle introduction, may get along with a canine friend. She isn't a cuddler, but she likes to sleep close to her people. While very active and not fond of being kenneled or left outside for long, she's happiest with daily activities and staying inside when her humans are away. She's used to a fenced yard to play in, and her family reports that keeping tempting things out of reach prevents mischief. Maya is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you can offer Maya the loving, child-free home she deserves, she’ll fill your days with loyalty and adventure. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Noah's Hope Animal Rescue

Questions about Maya
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Shepherds generally thrive in homes with ample space, such as houses with fenced yards. They appreciate environments where they can be part of family life and have opportunities for both physical and mental stimulation.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Shepherds do best with access to a secure, spacious yard where they can run and burn off their natural energy. Regular walks and playtime are important to meet their exercise needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Shepherds can be good family dogs and often do well with older children, especially when socialized from an early age. However, their herding instincts can make them less suitable for homes with very small children unless managed carefully.
