About Buford & Smokey

Buford & Smokey are a pair of 12-year-old beagle mix brothers looking for a home together after their longtime person fell ill. These two have spent most of their lives side by side—they're gentle, affectionate, and truly bonded. They’ll beg for cuddles and love to just relax with their people, making them ideal for someone who values companionship and a low-key, loving vibe at home. Buford & Smokey are both friendly and sociable; they'll greet you with wagging tails and immediately cozy up. They enjoy hanging out in a fenced yard, and a game of tug-of-war is one of their favorite pastimes. At home, expect easygoing dogs who love the couch and prefer sleeping in bed with their person at night. They're comfortable around teenagers but would be best as the only dogs in the house, as Buford can get a bit bossy with new dog friends initially—though he can adjust in time. Together, they're happiest just being with each other and you. They're both on a diet (they eat about 70 lbs. together) and have mild allergies managed with apoquel, especially during certain times of year. You’ll know when they need to go outside because they communicate subtly, either by barking or getting excited by the door, and are used to regular potty breaks, about five times daily. A heads-up: storms can make them uneasy, so keep them close during bad weather. These boys are ready to be loved and settle in for a happy retirement. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
