About Poppy
Poppy is a gentle soul with extraordinary resilience. At just 2 years old, she already knows what it means to fight for her well-being. This medium-sized, short-coated pit bull terrier mix landed safely in rescue after a rough beginning, having been abandoned in rural Oklahoma and battling health challenges. She has since been diagnosed with megaesophagus, a condition that requires her to eat blended meals from a special Bailey chair and take daily medication. Poppy’s condition is now well-managed, and she’s gained weight, become more playful, and is living life with full spirit. She adores people, gets the zoomies, and charms everyone she meets—even cats. Despite her special diet and medical needs, Poppy is house trained and loves affection. She does have some quirks an adopter must be ready for: a bit of kennel anxiety (she'll need a heavy-duty crate and calming meds for downtime) and the ability to jump fences—so a secure 6-foot privacy fence is a must. Her adoption is limited to local Oklahoma homes, and any adopter must be open to a home visit to ensure it’s the right environment for her continued health and happiness. Poppy is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped, all ready for her new beginning. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
