About Ike
Ike is a young male pit bull mix who survived a rough start after being found injured alone on a busy Chicago expressway with a fractured pelvis. Even during his recovery at the vet, he stayed upbeat and grateful, not letting pain dampen his spirit. Once healed enough to leave emergency care, he moved in with his vet tech foster, where he bonded with her cat and made friends with nearby dogs. Lately, his days are filled with puzzle toys, bones, and above all, his beloved daily frozen Kong. He’s limited to gentle activities for now, but his enthusiasm for life is clear. Ike is easy to please and happy to be part of the action—he’d thrive with an active adopter who wants a companion ready for new adventures as he regains full strength. He easily adapts to homes with other dogs or cats, or could soak up the attention as a solo pet. If you want a resilient, sweet-hearted dog who’s grateful for every second of his new life, Ike could be just the one you’re looking for. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
