Maverick
AvailableMaverick is a small, male Chiweenie/Dachshund blend living in Grand Prairie, TX. At about 2 years and 9 months old, he sports a short coat in bicolor black and chocolate brown. He is neutered, house trained, and up to date on his vaccinations. Maverick does not get along with cats, but he does well with other dogs. Maverick benefits from a routine environment and loves playtime with small, young, playful dogs.
About Maverick
Maverick is a charming Chiweenie mix with a body as close to the ground as his short, stubby legs will allow. Nearly two and a half years old, he comes wrapped in a coat the color of chocolate suede—striking and soft, a bit like mink but more inviting. He can be shy with new faces and takes his time, but once comfortable, Maverick is an affectionate little guy who doles out plenty of love and isn’t shy about showing it to those he trusts. Cats aren’t his thing, so he needs a cat-free home, and he isn’t suited for homes with kids under 8. He gravitates toward play and would do best with another small, young, playful dog buddy. Maverick is crate trained, enjoys toys, and has a joyful energy that makes him a good match for someone who understands his playful side and gives him time to adjust. Apartments aren’t a fit—he’ll need a home with more space. A home trial is part of the process, so there’s a chance to get to know Maverick before making things official. Maverick was born on August 26, so he’s a Virgo—good at routines and loyal to his pack. If Maverick sounds like a fit, his next chapter could start in Grand Prairie, TX. What are you waiting for? Questions about Maverick
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Maverick, being a Chiweenie and Dachshund mix, does best in a stable home with some room to play, ideally in a house rather than an apartment, especially since he prefers homes without large dogs or small children.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
As a small breed mix, Maverick benefits from access to a secure yard or regular walks, but he doesn't need a massive amount of outdoor space. A moderate yard and daily playtime are enough to keep him happy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chiweenies like Maverick can be sensitive or nervous around young children. He’s best suited to homes with adults or older kids, as noted by his restriction for households without children under 8 years old.
