About Hoss

7/23/2025 update to bio Hoss Update! This handsome guy has been making strides and is ready to find his forever home! Dog Friendly (with a twist!) - Hoss has shown he's friendly with female dogs close to his size. Sorry, no small dogs or cats for this big guy. Slow & Smart Introductions - A few meet-and-greets are required to ensure everyone feels safe and secure before heading home together. Fenced-In Yard REQUIRED - Hoss is protective of his space when it comes to other animals, but totally cool with unfamiliar people. Yes, even surprise visitors-he's all tail wags for humans! Toy Lover - He'll happily entertain himself for hours with his favorite toys Grooming Progress - He's doing much better with his grooming routine thanks to consistent care and patience. Hoss is sweet, loyal, and so incredibly deserving of a home to call his own. Could it be yours? Apply to adopt at www.milestofreedomanimalrescue.org ******************************************** Meet Hoss - Your Gentle Giant and Loyal Companion Aka: Hoss-Man, Hossie Boy, Mellow Fellow, Gentle Giant, Lovebug Hoss has been soaking up all the love and living his best life in foster care for the past few weeks, and he's proven to be nothing short of amazing. This big-hearted boy is the ultimate mellow companion - happy to just be near his people, whether lounging in the yard or tagging along for a car ride with his head out the window. Personality & Lifestyle: Laid-back and affectionate Loves belly rubs, naps, deck time, pond walks, canoe rides, and cruising in the car A true people dog - happiest when he's with you Crate trained, house trained (not a single accident!), and walks beautifully on leash Smart & Well-Mannered: When Hoss arrived, he only barely knew "sit" - now, he's mastered "sit," "stay," "come," and "down," and he's always eager to learn more. He has great food manners too: he'll patiently sit and wait for an "OK!" before diving into his meal. Social & Sweet: Hoss is incredibly gentle and handled a visit with 10 guests and two toddlers like a champ - calm, sweet, and totally unfazed by tail tugs and tiny toes. He's an affectionate soul who bonds deeply with his people and wants nothing more than to love and protect them. A Note on Other Dogs: Hoss has shown some protective instincts when other large dogs approach his foster family - a sign of his loyalty, but also a behavior that will benefit from continued training and guidance. He has interacted and even played with other dogs, so with time, socialization, and the right structure, he can absolutely improve in this area. For now, Hoss would thrive as the only dog in the home, with a fenced yard (physical or wireless) and humans committed to helping him continue to grow. If you're ready for a loyal, loving, smart, and snuggly best friend - Hoss is waiting for you. Apply today at milestofreedomanimalrescue.org Hoss is more than just a dog - he's family waiting to happen.
