About Avi
Meet Avi, a true rescue story in the making. Avi's earlier life was rough—he came from an abusive situation and is still working through the aftermath. At about 10 years old and around 55 lbs, this Siberian Husky has learned a lot with patient, clicker-based training. He needs someone willing to continue that journey, ideally with prior husky experience. Playful and affectionate once he trusts you, Avi is wary at first but full of life once settled. He can't be placed with children or cats, as quick movements unsettle him, but he's friendly with other dogs—especially those close to his size and energy. Avi can jump fences under 6 feet, so a secure yard and regular, long walks are musts. He’s happiest with a canine companion who enjoys plenty of play. This is a dog for an experienced adopter ready for a rewarding challenge and willing to invest in his continued rehabilitation and training. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Avi
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Avi, as a Siberian Husky, will thrive in an active household with a secure, fenced yard and plenty of room to move. Huskies do best with families committed to their exercise and mental stimulation needs, ideally those without small children or small pets.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Siberian Huskies like Avi need access to a secure outdoor area where they can run and play. Huskies are known escape artists and require a tall fence—at least 6 feet—to keep them contained and safe.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Avi is not suitable for homes with children, as he is reactive to quick movements and needs an adult-only home. Generally, Siberian Huskies can get along with older children, but each dog’s history matters.
