About Vader

Vader is a one-to-two-year-old Rottweiler who spent some time as a stray in Philly before making his way to Kodi's Club. He waited for his family to come for him, but when no one appeared, he handled the shelter life with patience and friendliness. Volunteers quickly noticed Vader’s sweet side. He gets along well with people and generally cooperates, but he needs some help polishing his manners. He’s strong, pulls on leash, and is still learning not to jump up when he gets excited, so an experienced owner willing to invest in training sessions is needed. Vader takes treats gently and seems to appreciate a calm handler. He’s house trained and vaccinated, and while he doesn’t show much interest in other dogs—whether on walks or when given the freedom to play—he’s more focused on scents and activities in the yard. Cats are an unknown. Because he’s energetic and still learning to control his enthusiasm, homes with kids under 12 are not a match. Vader will need a physically fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy and explore. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
