Jax is a unique and full-of-personality pit bull terrier in Cedar Rapids, IA, whose start in life wasn’t easy—a dog attack left its mark, but now he’s healthy and just has an endearing little 'guppy' click when his jaws snap shut. He’s smart, training-savvy, and has a flair for stretching and lounging with crossed arms like he owns the place. Jax loves canine companionship, especially dogs his own size who can match his wrestling enthusiasm and playful spirit. He gets along very well with other dogs but isn’t compatible with cats. For Jax, an ideal home includes older kids to chill with (he prefers to skip snuggling with babies), a yard with a fence, and bonus points for access to a pool. He’s a pool-loving 'pool boy' happiest outdoors chasing squirrels or simply soaking up the sun. Inside, he alternates between soft beds and cool floors, barks politely when he needs something, and thrives when he knows what to expect. Jax is house trained, neutered, vaccinated, and sleeps quietly through the night in his kennel. He needs active daily exercise and is at his best with routine and consistency. He might seem shy at first but is quick to bond, ready to lean or nuzzle in close with those he trusts. Paper towels are a weakness, but otherwise, Jax isn’t a chewer. He does not do well if left without exercise for long stretches and would do great with someone around to offer a bit of supervision.
