Zeus
AvailableZeus is a senior male German Shepherd Dog in Cuba, NY, expected to top out around 90 pounds. He is house trained, neutered, and vaccinated, making him a complete companion. Zeus gets along beautifully with other dogs and people, but should not live with cats and does best in a home without small children. He may need medication for mild weakness in his back end. Zeus is loyal and looking for someone prepared for the needs of an extra-large, aging shepherd.
About Zeus
Zeus, a senior German Shepherd Dog, came to the rescue after his person passed away. He’s a big guy who could reach 90 pounds when healthy. Zeus adores spending time with people of all ages, but because of his large frame and lack of awareness about his size, homes without small children are best. He thrives with other dogs but has too much fun chasing cats, so a cat-free home is essential. Car rides are no problem for Zeus, and he does well on leash walks. Off leash, he’ll stick with you, though he might need a reminder now and then. His back end is a bit weak, so he’ll need ongoing NSAID medications such as Rimadyl for comfort. When he arrived, he had some missing fur from a flea issue, but it’s already coming back in. Zeus is looking for someone who can commit both emotionally and financially, especially as extra-large breeds often require more care as they age. He’s already house trained, neutered, and fully vaccinated. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
