About Lucy

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Meet Lucy! This beautiful Labrador Retriever and Shepherd mix is the perfect blend of sweetness, gentleness, and playful spirit. At about 7 years old, she is a lovely, well-behaved, and house trained companion who’d be happy to spend time with her family inside the home or relaxing in a fenced yard. Lucy knows some commands and is smart, gently taking treats and enjoying car rides or games of fetch. She adores children, though due to her large size, she’s best suited for families with children over the age of 5. Lucy is still active and would love a yard and plenty of walks or hikes. Lucy can get along with other dogs so long as introductions are slow and proper. She would do especially well as an only dog or with an older, calmer canine friend—if you have another dog at home, a meet-and-greet is required to ensure a great match. She does not get along with cats. This affectionate lady is seeking a family who’d enjoy sharing their home, heart, and time with her. As a Pisces (born in early March), Lucy has a loving nature and tends to form strong bonds with her people. Lucy is heartworm positive but treatment is well underway and covered by the rescue’s partnership vets. The rescue recommends refreshing her house-training and that adopters continue socialization and obedience work to ease her transition and form a lasting bond. They are waiting with paws crossed!
