About Chee Yoo

Chee Yoo is a 7-year-old Akita/Jindo mix who has spent most of her life learning to trust people. Originally from South Korea, she arrived at Jelly's Place a very shy, timid dog who mostly hid from new experiences. Over time, with patient care, she’s learned to enjoy daily leash walks and feels safest around her primary caregiver. Chee Yoo doesn’t warm up quickly to strangers and remains skittish in busy or unpredictable environments. She has a deep bond with Pepe, another shy resident at the rescue, and they must be adopted together. She relaxes most around other calm dogs, but can be protective of her food around them—mealtime supervision is a must. Chee Yoo would thrive best in a quiet home with adults or older kids only. Dog experience is required, especially with shy, skittish animals. First-time adopters won’t be a fit. A calm household with another gentle dog is essential, and the rescue prefers Chee Yoo and Pepe remain together. Multiple meet-and-greet sessions are encouraged so she can slowly become comfortable with her future family. Chee Yoo is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Her birthday is October 8th, which makes her a Libra—she might just win you over with her calm energy if given the right space and patience. Think you can help Chee Yoo bloom?
