About Daisy

Daisy, an adult English Pointer in Wood Dale, IL, was pulled from a crowded Tennessee shelter and is now recovering from several serious health issues—including heartworms, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and blastomycosis—under the care of Illinois Birddog Rescue. Recently, Daisy has begun showing more playful energy and a typically cheerful Pointer demeanor. She enjoys running outside, gets along well with both dogs and cats, and has shown she’s safe around young children. Daisy is timid and seeks reassurance, preferring her chosen safe spots and needing gentle encouragement to explore. She is housebroken if you pay attention to her signals and is learning the dog door. Daisy takes treats gently, enjoys affection, and, while not overly playful yet, will nap contentedly alongside other dogs. She is a bit particular about her food, preferring it mixed, and will seek out anything tasty left unattended. A foster or foster-to-adopt in the Chicago area with a secure, fenced yard and other confident dogs would be ideal for Daisy as she gains confidence and continues her heartworm treatment (supplies covered by the rescue). She’s ready for a quiet, patient home with lots of love as she continues her recovery. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
