Pontoon is a handsome 1-1/2 year old male Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on June 21, 2025 after he was found in the Marietta Ohio area (exact location not provided). Pontoon was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. This good-looking young man has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long curled tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, a black/chocolate brown nose, and large floppy ears. Pontoon's coat has a subtle chocolate brown sheen when he is in the bright sunlight. These photos of Pontoon were taken on June 28, 2025 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emma Dahlgren accompanied him outdoors for his 'glamour pictures' late that afternoon. Pontoon posed like a Westminster Show Dog for most of his publicity photos .. And posed for some other cute poses when he was mesmerized by some of our shelter mascot kitties who were watching him from a distance. Pontoon weighs approximatley 50 lbs. Like most of our dogs who have been in a small kennel during the day/night, Pontoon was happy to enjoy out-of-kennel time and was very energetic on a leash. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Pontoon was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership .. But nobody called or came looking for him. Pontoon will be neutered before being adopted by his new family. He could be fostered while he is awaiting that surgery with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
