About Velcro Aka Velly
Velcro Aka Velly is a 2½-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound who’s been searching for her family for almost two years in Knox, IN. True to her name, Velly is the definition of a Velcro dog; wherever you are, she’ll be. She craves closeness—cuddle sessions on the couch and curling up at your feet are her idea of the perfect day. Her foster mom describes her as sweet, silly, intensely loyal, and affectionate. Velly is housetrained, rides well in the car, and always up for a romp in the yard, a splash in some water, or a game of fetch. She’s still working on her leash skills, making steady progress, and benefits from patience as she overcomes old fears. Loud noises and new experiences can rattle her, but daily fluoxetine helps her relax and enjoy life. New owners should be ready for a gentle transition. While Velly has lived with other dogs before, she can get overstimulated and does best as an only dog or perhaps with the right companion and an experienced adopter. She doesn’t do well with cats and would prefer a home where she’s the only animal. Crates aren’t her thing, but she’s trustworthy loose in the house if she has toys and puzzles to keep her clever hound mind busy. What Velly wants most is a family—someone to walk with, play with, and cuddle with at day’s end. After nearly two years in rescue, she’s overdue to find the people she’ll call her own.
