About David

David is a striking adult black Labrador mix who landed in the shelter after losing his person, arriving alongside his brother Andrew. Until now, David knew only a quiet farm life—never socialized, never walked on a leash, never exposed to much beyond his own yard. The transition to the shelter knocked him back a step; he circled nervously, or shut down if he felt overwhelmed. Through patience, the staff have seen a gentle, good-natured dog emerge who has never once shown aggression, even under stress. David needs an adopter willing to commit time and steady patience to help him continue building confidence. He should have a securely fenced yard (at least five feet), or true diligence to keep him safe, since new sights and sounds are unfamiliar to him. With the right support, David will blossom in a quiet, loving home and grow into the companion he’s meant to be. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
