Kodiak is a purebred Border Collie bursting with energy, intelligence, and a true herding instinctāheāll try to organize everything from livestock to children if you let him. Heās sharp, loyal, and absolutely thrives when heās given a job, whether thatās working livestock, crushing agility courses, or mastering new tricks and challenges. Kodiak especially loves puzzle toys that keep his mind engaged, and his recall is top-notch. He really isnāt suited for a couch-potato lifestyle; Kodiak needs wide open space, consistent activity, and someone who truly understands herding breeds. If you live on a farm, ranch, or are experienced with active working dogs, heāll fit right in. Kodiak gets along fine with other dogs during work, but off-duty he prefers a small, carefully chosen circle of canine companions. He gravitates toward female dogs, but has proven he can bond with certain males. Heās not suited for homes with cats or young childrenāolder, dog-savvy teens are the exception. House-broken, crate trained, trick-proficient, and neutered, Kodiakās all set health-wise with his vaccinations up to date.
