About Ms. Doris
Ms. Doris turned up on the roadside in New Richmond, clearly having just finished caring for kittens that, heartbreakingly, weren't with her. While her rough start shows, she's landed on her feet in the rescue and has made it clear she values her independence. Ms. Doris does like being near people and happily accepts attention—when she decides it’s the right time. She sometimes gets overstimulated, so it’s important to respect her signals. For this reason, she’d do best in a home with adults or older kids (13+) who can read her moods and don’t expect a lap cat at all hours. She’s easy with other cats, hanging out in the same spaces without drama, but generally prefers her own company. She’ll play with toys, go after treats, and comes to life when food is involved. If you have a dog, Ms. Doris might not fit—high-energy or overly inquisitive pups aren’t her speed. Calm, disinterested dogs might be fine. If your home is calm and you’d appreciate a cat who likes things her way, Doris would slot right in. She deserves a place she can simply be herself without pressure.
