About Shakespeare
Shakespeare found his way to Good Mews thanks to a Good Samaritan and has been working on building his confidence ever since. This cautious boy tends to stake out a safe corner when you first meet him, needing a patient adopter who'll give him both breathing room and encouragement to adjust on his terms. Once trust is built, Shakespeare loves nothing more than lounging nearby, soaking up pets, and staying closeāthough being a true lap cat isn't on his agenda yet. He's got plenty of energy and an endless appetite for play, especially with string toys and a dash of catnip. Shakespeare gets along well with other cats and seems happiest with a friendly, active feline around him. Heās not comfortable with dogs, and because he sometimes play-bites or swats when startled or overstimulated, he isnāt suited for homes with small children. Over time, he reveals just how much he likes window-watching and cozy hideouts, and he prefers not to be picked up. What Shakespeare truly needs is someone who respects his personal boundaries and trusts the process as he grows comfortable. Heās FIV+, but he can live alongside FIVā cats as long as they get along, and FIV+ cats can have long, healthy lives. Shakespeare is part of the Kitty Keeper program at Good Mews.
