About Rosie
Rosie spent her early years as a devoted mother, and now she’s ready to trade parenthood for some well-earned affection and comfort. This soulful, gentle four-year-old cattle dog/shepherd mix was found as a stray in rural Texas, valiantly caring for a litter of puppies. After safely raising her pups and making a full recovery from heartworm treatment, she’s looking for her own fresh start up north. Despite her rocky beginnings, Rosie is affectionate and trusting once given some time—she’ll open up after a week or so and surprise you with her playful, snuggly side. One of her quirks: she gathers shoes but doesn’t chew them, just makes a little shoe pile wherever she’s feeling cozy. She balances bursts of playful energy with a mellow temperament, making her an excellent companion for someone who works from home. Rosie’s happiest racing around with toys or settling in for a nap beside another calm and confident dog—she blossoms with canine company but could also thrive with a committed adopter experienced with shy dogs. She’s housebroken, crate trained, great on leash, fully spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations. Rosie is still gaining confidence around new people and unfamiliar places, so patience and understanding will go a long way. You’ll find she’s worth every bit of it. With her birthday in May, Rosie is a determined Taurus—loyal and quiet but steady once she trusts you. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Rosie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rosie, as a cattle dog/mixed breed, adapts well to various households but does best in homes where she gets plenty of attention and calm structure. She's happiest with a cozy space and some room to play, especially with access to another calm dog.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Cattle dog mixes like Rosie appreciate a yard or regular access to outdoor walks. She enjoys running and playtime, so some safe space for activity is important even if it’s just reliably scheduled outdoor time.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Rosie’s cattle dog/mixed breed background is generally good with respectful, older children. Given her gentle and sometimes timid nature, slow introductions are best, and she may prefer a quieter home.
