About Kai
Kai is a large, black and white Pointer with a gentle spirit. Weighing in at roughly 70–80 pounds, Kai tends to be timid and shy at first but is calm indoors and appears housebroken. He does well with other dogs as long as they’re gentle and respects boundaries. Kai has shown he can be around children as long as his space is respected and he’s not cornered, making him a possible fit for respectful, patient families. Currently, Kai is on thyroid medication, but his condition is well-controlled and doesn’t slow him down. His short coat is easy to care for. While Kai opens up slowly, once he trusts you, his well-mannered nature shines through. Give Kai the chance to settle in, and you’ll see a steady companion with a lot to offer. Questions about Kai
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Pointers like Kai generally do best in homes with access to a secure yard or regular outdoor time, as they enjoy exploring and stretching their legs. Kai’s timid nature means he’d appreciate a calm environment, especially one that respects his need for space.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Kai, being a large Pointer, benefits from daily walks and time to roam in a fenced yard. While he’s mellow indoors, having outdoor space to sniff and wander helps keep him content.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Pointers often do well with children, especially when the children are taught to respect the dog’s boundaries. Kai seems comfortable around kids as long as his space is not invaded or he isn’t cornered.
