About Moxie
Meet Moxie, a 1-year-old, 58-pound blend of German Shepherd, Maremma, and Anatolian Shepherd, searching for her forever home. Moxie is playful—she has a passion for toys, yard adventures, and is always in the mood for treats or a belly rub. She gets along very well with her littermates and takes direction from older resident dogs. Because of her size and energy, older children are a better fit. With cats, she’s respectful of their boundaries and has been calm around farm animals like chickens and goats. This clever pup is food-motivated, currently working on leash training and housebreaking, and already using the doggie door regularly. Moxie will need a home with a secure, fenced yard; her guardian breed genetics make exploring the outdoors and patrolling her territory second nature. She tends to lead among her siblings but is submissive to resident dogs, especially if they’re smaller. She can be reserved at first but warms up quickly, blending her playful nature with moments of quiet observation. Outside, she keeps watch; inside, she’s happy to lounge. Cheese, peanut butter, and ice cubes are her treats of choice. Her future will require space, structure, and early commitment to training and socialization, as these breeds are loyal but often aloof with strangers. Guardian behaviors will become more pronounced as she matures. Moxie is fostered in Wausau, WI with her siblings. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion ready for adventure and relaxation, Moxie may be a great fit. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
