About Wally

Wally is a striking Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix with a thick, soft coat and deeply expressive eyes. He didn't come with much of a background, so everyday sights and sounds, like TVs or sudden noise, are still new to him. FOHA has enrolled him in their Diamond Dog program, which ensures his adopter will get extra guidance and support as he adjusts. Wally needs an experienced owner—someone who knows what it means to respect the independent, protective instincts of his breed, and who is prepared to help him keep building confidence through patient training. He is very clear about what works for him and what does not. Wally must be the only dog at home—he prefers his space and can be reactive to other dogs. No cats, livestock, or children, since high activity, sudden movements, and his prey drive create stress. He does not do well in apartments, condos, or anywhere with shared walls. Wally thrives with routine, structure, and a yard to roam. Housebreaking is coming along, and he’s working on crate training. His favorite things are butt scratches, quality time with his caregivers, and carrying his food bowl through the yard. Born August 29, Wally is a practical, grounded Virgo that finds comfort in predictability. For the right adopter, Wally offers a loyal heart; he just needs you to go slow and give him space to settle in. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
