About Gherkin

Gherkin and his brother Dill started life in a cat colony and have stuck together ever since, creating a strong bond. Gherkin has a bold black back and head, with a white underbelly and paws—classic markings for a short-haired cat. He’s the goofier and more outgoing of the duo, but he needs time and trust to feel safe. Gherkin will seek out attention from people he knows, and can be picked up without complaint, though he won’t pretend to enjoy it. Laser pointers, wand toys, and toy mice get him moving, and he especially loves spending downtime perched up high—preferably on the cat tree—watching the world go by. He eats, grooms, and hangs out near his foster family, but isn’t a fan of hands coming straight for him. When Dill meows and jumps in, the sibling play fights kick off. For Gherkin, the ideal home means plenty of vertical space, lots of room to observe birds, and a patient adopter willing to adopt both brothers together. Fun fact: As an Aquarius, Gherkin might surprise you with oddball antics and a streak of independence. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
