About Coco
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Our gorgeous Coco is a refreshing burst of energy and personality! Rescued as a city stray from Staten Island and brought to Connecticut, Coco is believed to be a Red Tick Coonhound mix with an athletic build and a playful spark. At 48 pounds, she's strong and ready for any active adventure—hiking, running, swimming, or anything that keeps her mind and body busy. Coco needs a dedicated adopter or couple with confident dog experience who can continue her training and help her earn her Canine Good Citizenship badge. Coco shines in the great outdoors, with polished manners, a sweet affection for humans, and a mischievous, lively side that keeps everyone entertained. She's happiest when included as a true member of the family, not left out in the yard. While she has gotten along with some sociable dogs, her alpha personality means she thrives best with structure and calm. Coco would prefer a peaceful home environment and careful introductions with other dogs—high-energy or chaotic households with lots of animals aren't the best fit for her. She's likely to chase cats, so a feline-free home would be ideal. Her house and crate training are solid, though some transitional accidents can be expected. Coco is in excellent health, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated so she can start her forever with you worry-free. She'd love a home ready to match her enthusiasm and continue her journey to being the perfect companion. Start your journey together! Apply now.
