About Sage
Sage comes from a tough start but is quickly finding her place in the world. Sheās a petite, leggy German Shepherd/Poodle mix, almost otherworldly in looksāwith a coy, fox-like presence that makes her stand out from the crowd. Born into a hoarding situation, Sage spent her first months unsure of human kindness. With her Seattle-area foster, sheās flourished: sheās learned the rhythm of daily life, enjoys running and wrestling with a diverse pack of dogs, and even gets along with cats and horses. Sageās gentle curiosity is emerging; sheās started to seek out affection, respond when called, and accompany her foster mom around the house. Sheās fully house and crate trained, and thrives with predictable routines. Even so, Sage still finds the world a bit daunting and will need a patient home committed to showing her the ropes. A calm environment, structure, and dog-savvy adopters will give her the best shot at lasting confidence. For Sage, a securely fenced yard is essentialāshe loves to stretch out and explore safelyāand she must have at least one friendly, confident canine companion. Apartments and homes with young kids arenāt right for her just yet; she does best when things are mellow and predictable. Sage is a special project with a gentle heart, and for adopters who enjoy the journey of building trust, sheāll be incredibly rewarding. Start your journey together! Apply now.
