As she's still a young, big-breed dog, she will benefit from ongoing training and socialization in her future home.

About Leota

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Leota, named after Madam Leota, arrived at the rescue as a puppy and blossomed into a playful and social 80-pound, 18-month-old shepherd mix. She's spent a year waiting for her perfect match! With a sweet disposition, Leota thrives on playtime, enjoys snuggles on her terms, and loves to nap or rest independently near her people. She delights in the company of other dogs, regardless of their size, and is friendly with children aged five and older. Leota hasn't had direct exposure to cats, but she’s shown positive, calm curiosity with new canine friends, suggesting adaptability in a multi-pet household. Leota is just beginning her journey with collars and leash training, so her adopter should be ready to continue working on these skills. She is potty trained to an open sliding door in her current foster home, but as a young, big-breed dog, ongoing house training and socialization will be essential. She’d do best with another playful dog or an active family who can keep her engaged and help her burn off her energetic spirit. A dedicated, experienced big-breed owner is needed to guide Leota as she grows into her full potential. All puppies will require continued training and a puppy-proofed home to set them up for success. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
