About Ruby
Ruby is a big-hearted American Bulldog, carrying an undeniable sweetness and love for people—she gives it freely to anyone willing to share a moment with her. She’s truly a happy presence and finds joy in simple pleasures: a tough toy to chew, tasty snacks, and opportunities to sniff around outside. She enjoys short walks but needs someone steady, as leash manners are still a work in progress. Continuing her training is important, giving her the structure and skills she’s still catching up on. Ruby currently lives with cats and, with careful introductions, has managed well with other dogs. That said, her start to life was rough: she was rescued from a high-risk shelter situation and spent too long being used for breeding. She bears scars—physical and emotional—and sometimes needs time to trust other dogs, but she’s shown she can make those connections. Ruby is crate trained, house trained, and knows her basics. Given how young kids can overwhelm her, she’ll do best in a calm home with older, considerate children. Ruby’s vaccinations and microchip are current, and she’s spayed.
