About Spot Courtney Post. Out
SPOT IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR RESCUE CONTACT: Street Dog Hero 910 SE Wilson Ave Bend, OR 97702 Jaymie@streetdoghero.org DESKLINE: 541-508-8023 PERSONALITY TRAITS: Spot is a friendly, happy boy that is good with other dogs and enjoys off leash doggy playgroups. He can be a bit mouthy so respectful, older (12+) children are advised. He is possibly good with cats but would need further testing to be sure. Spot knows basic commands and is house/leash trained. He doesn't do well in a kennel but shelter staff & volunteers are working on it. What shelter staff & volunteers had to say about Spot: *Breed: Mixed Gender: Male, neutered Age: 1 year Weight: 55 lbs *Dog-Friendly: Yes – best with energetic dogs *Cat-Friendly: Has respected the office cats but cats who are not dog savvy he might want to chase *Kid-Friendly: Best with older kids due to energy and mouthiness. *Potty Trained: Yes *Crate Trained: Sleeps well in crate overnight; still working on daytime crating. *Training: Spot works with a trainer twice a week and is making great progress with consistency and structure. He’s currently on daily anti-anxiety medication to support his training. *Foster Notes: Spot is a goofy, smart, and affectionate pup with lots of love to give and energy to burn. He thrives with clear boundaries, calm leadership, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation. He enjoys leash walks, training games, and flirt pole sessions—and is a champ at “sit,” “down,” “shake,” and learning “stay” and “drop it.” Spot can be mouthy and jumpy, especially when overstimulated. He may nip when excited or uncomfortable, so he’ll need an experienced foster who can manage these behaviors using positive reinforcement and redirection. His trainer is helping him work through this, and he’s already making great strides. He’s not a beginner dog, but he has tons of potential in the right home. He gets along well with other dogs, especially those who match his energy. *A calm, confident dog-savvy home (ideally without cats or small pets) would help him thrive. *Car rides: A little anxious but manageable *Backstory: Spot came from a rural situation where he and his litter mates lived mostly outdoors. He’s now adjusting to life inside a home and is eager to bond with his people *Ideal Home: Someone with experience and patience who can provide consistent training and structure. A home without young kids and ideally with a yard and/or playful dog buddy would be a great match. If Spot sounds like the pooch you've been looking for, contact Street Dog Hero and make an appointment to meet him. If you already have a dog, bring them with you for a proper introduction. He's waiting... BREED: Bully breed blend AGE: 1 years WEIGHT: 55 lbs HEALTH: All rescue dogs are vaccinated, altered, and micro-chipped. GOOD WITH: Other dogs, older (12+) respectful children; possibly cats, other small animals unknown
