About Freckles
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Freckles, an approximately 4-year-old Domestic Short Hair who was once a stray before a kind volunteer brought her to the Bond County Humane Society. Freckles is a playful spirit who enjoys chasing bouncy balls and loves to explore every corner, finding new nooks and crannies throughout the shelter. She prefers to get to know people on her own terms and will let you know when it’s time for affection, making her interactions very special and rewarding. Freckles does come with some special needs. She is FIV positive, which means she should either be the only cat in your home or live with other FIV-positive cats. FIV is only transmitted between cats through deep bites or scratches, and with proper care—a low-stress environment, nutritious food, and regular veterinary visits—she can live a normal life expectancy. Additionally, Freckles has been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), so it’s very important that she stays on a special diet to keep her healthy. She shares her space peacefully with another FIV-positive cat and is ready to find a committed, loving home that can provide the care she needs. She is already spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, has been tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for parasites, and microchipped. Freckles is available for immediate adoption at Bond County Humane Society. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
