About Ember

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Ember is a spirited young female Black Labrador Retriever mix weighing 37 pounds, fully grown at about 1.5 years old. She’s spayed and her vaccinations are up to date. Found as an emaciated stray, Ember overcame a leg injury that wasn’t treated properly, resulting in a lifelong disability. Her leg has fused in a way that can’t be corrected, but, with pain management when needed, she still lives life to the fullest! Ember’s foster chose to preserve her leg rather than amputation, ensuring she can still enjoy running around the yard chasing lizards and rabbits—though she’s best suited to families looking for a companion rather than a hiking or climbing partner. Ember’s playful, sometimes mischievous, and quick to learn. She enjoys playing with dog toys and understands basic commands like "no," "off," "inside," and "outside." She’s house and crate trained, very treat motivated, and especially loves pup cups. Ember is interested in other dogs and cats, and gets along with both, but will need supervision as she continues to learn gentle play. With her high energy and affectionate nature, Ember will likely thrive in a household with children who can match her playfulness and loving spirit. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
