About Mitchell
Mitchell is a large, short-coated black Lab mix based in Southington, CT, currently being fostered there. He’s about 2 years old and weighs close to 90 pounds. Mitchell came to rescue as a puppy and was adopted, but his first family treated him poorly, so he landed back with the rescue. It’s taken some time for him to regain his sweet, goofy spirit, but that spark is back and he’s ready for a better chapter. He gets along with most other non-aggressive dogs but shouldn’t go to a home with young children—he’s a big, sometimes clumsy boy who might accidentally barrel into a kid. Cats are untested. Mitchell is crate and house trained and knows basic commands. He loves car rides, hiking, and exploring, while also seeking out affection and giving kisses. Because of his past with men, Mitchell needs an experienced adopter who understands a rescue dog’s history and can build trust with patience. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
