About Bear
Click apply to start the adoption process. Bear is a senior Chihuahua whose quiet charm and gentle heart light up even the softest moments. After losing his beloved owner, Bear is seeking a calm, patient adopter who can help him rediscover trust and comfort. This affectionate little gentleman spends much of his day curled up on blankets, enjoying naps and watching the world from his cozy pen. He uses wee-wee pads and will politely bark when he needs to go outside, showing thoughtful communication. Bear is learning to walk on a leash with a harness, but still feels most secure in a fenced yard where he can get familiar at his own pace. He gets along with small female dogs, though tends to be reserved with males, and prefers a peaceful home with reassuring routines. While Bear hasn’t met children or cats, his gentle nature suggests he would do best in a tranquil, predictable environment. He’s low-energy, mostly quiet, and simply wants a loving person who spends time at home—such as a retiree or someone who works remotely. Bear hopes someone will see the beauty of adopting a senior and offer him the warmth and kindness he so deeply deserves. In return, he will give endless gratitude and companionship to whoever says “Your story isn’t over yet.” Please note: Applicants must live within one hour of Cary, NC, as Bear’s care is coordinated through Best Friend Pet Adoption’s foster and vet network. Home visits and adoption trial deliveries are part of his adoption process. Start your journey together! Apply now.
