About Uma

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Uma is a sassy, fun, and loyal girl with a love for play and a bright personality. She is not dog friendly but gets along well with cats and is best suited to homes with older children or adults. Due to her unknown history and possible past abuse, Uma is uncomfortable with being restrained, hugged, or forced in any way, and she responds best to patient, calm handlers who can provide gentle yet confident leadership. Building trust with Uma is rewarding—once she feels safe, she will happily give kisses, lean against you, and show off her playful side. Because she is very food motivated, training is not only fun but also highly effective, and she learns new commands quickly. While she can get overstimulated during playtime, she calms easily with treats and practicing commands. For vet visits, Uma requires special instructions and medication. She deserves a home where her limits are respected, and her new family is committed to learning her unique cues and needs. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
