About Helgi

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Helgi is an energetic and sweet Akita mix who made quite an entrance as the elusive pup darting around Augusta—until her quick-thinking foster team stepped in. She's settling in beautifully with her current foster family, showing lots of love and devotion to her foster dad and picking up kennel manners like a pro. Helgi thrives with routine and is already kennel trained, never having an accident indoors. Playtime is her favorite, especially if she can bounce and pounce, so she’ll benefit from a home that provides her space and patience. A tolerant canine companion would be ideal to help Helgi learn the ropes of being a pet, as she’s still discovering 'how to dog.' She’s not immediately plug-and-play, but she’s a fast learner and will reward your guidance with affection and lots of fun. Helgi’s attitude toward cats and children remains to be seen, but her sweetness and adorable personality shine through. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
