About Hartley
Hartley is a medium-sized pit bull terrier often called a "pocket pittie," though she's got more spirit than you could fit in a pocket. She’s playful but gentle, curious but not destructive. Hartley loves walks, car rides with the windows down, and playing her special two-ball fetch game. She’s a fan of backyard stick hunts and absolutely adores butt scratches. When the hose comes out, she’ll get a little wild, but her foster is helping her work through the excitement. She’ll probably hang back the first time you meet—just making sure you’re worth her trust—but once you win her over, you get the full dose of her love. Hartley knows the basics (sit, stay, down, shake), sports a famously soft coat, and gets compliments on her physique. Crate trained and house trained, she doesn’t chew or misbehave. She’s not fazed by fireworks or storms, and she doesn’t need coddling for loud noises. Hartley can be selective with other dogs, most comfortable with those who’ll let her run the show. She isn’t a fit for homes with kids or cats. She’d be happy as an only dog if you’ve got time for her, but another respectful pup is a bonus. Chewing a bone beside you would make her day. Hartley will fill your home and heart, no matter the size. Born February 6 (making her an Aquarius—that might explain her independent streak). Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
