Joleona was first spotted near a busy highway in early January, skittish and avoiding human contact. As weeks passed, she grew thin while searching for food, and with freezing temperatures approaching, rescuers knew time was running out. After days of tracking and setting traps, she was finally brought to safety just before a snowstorm. Though timid at first, she quickly warmed up once she realized she was safe.. She cannot cornered or pushed to engage as her fear will take over. Now a young, sweet girl recovering from malnutrition, Joleona enjoys soft beds, warm sweaters, and loving care. She's ready to find a foster home where she can continue to heal and thrive.
