Poppi’s story is as heartbreaking as it is important to tell. This beautiful black cat once had a home and a person she loved... but when her owner passed away, Poppi was left behind in the quiet, empty house they once shared. For months, she lived almost entirely alone, with only brief visits from caretakers to refresh her food, water, and litter box. No conversation, no companionship, no warm lap or gentle hand… just silence and confusion. It’s no wonder that Poppi learned to retreat into herself. When she arrived at All But Furgotten, she came with an even more urgent crisis - she hadn’t been spayed and was suffering from pyometra, a life-threatening infection that required emergency surgery. Thankfully, she received the care she desperately needed. At around six years old, Poppi now has a second chance, and we are determined to help her find the peace and love she has gone without for far too long. Poppi often hides, curling herself into her blankets, hoping the world won’t notice her. She is scared, unsure, and grieving the life she lost. But behind those fearful eyes is a gentle, sensitive soul who just needs time, patience, and kindness to feel safe again.
