About Perla
Perla thrives as a loyal companion and watchdog. She tends to be cautious with new visitors in her home, always keeping an eye out for her people. After spending about a year roaming a campus in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Perla was finally rescued and given a chance to find stability. She’s already shown her nurturing side—she has had a litter at least once. Perla is finishing up heartworm treatment and has about a month to go. Her initial shyness surfaces when she meets someone new, but once she learns you’re trustworthy, she shows her affectionate side and wants to stick close. Perla enjoys lounging on the couch or napping in her bed, and she is adjusting well to crate training for nighttime or when left alone for a couple of hours. She has a playful streak, especially when there are bones to chew or other dogs to romp with. As an alpha female, she can be spirited with her dog friends. Born December 5, 2020, she’s a Sagittarius—so expect a little adventure alongside her big heart. Perla is in Rincon, PR. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
