About Chickadee

Chickadee is a young American Shorthair who arrived at the rescue after being found with her littermates near the Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia. While she started out on the shy side, Chickadee quickly learned the comforts of safe indoor living, and over time, she’s blossomed into a devoted lap cat and a relentless biscuit maker. She does have her quirks: if you reach suddenly to pet her head, she gets nervous, but start at her side or back and she’ll reward you with purrs. She’s expressive—her face always seems to tell you what she’s thinking, often with a perfectly unimpressed David Rose look. Chickadee enjoys a few routines: she’ll lounge with you for lap time, seek out scritches, and drink from the bathroom faucet while you get ready. Like her brothers, she’ll sometimes supervise meal preparation and she’s happiest on the catio, gazing out at the world. She’s spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and her combo test is negative. She gets along with other cats, but takes a cautious approach with visitors and prefers a gentle, patient adopter. Ready to welcome a curious, affectionate companion into your home? They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
