Temperament
Appenzellers are often lively, confident and wary of strangers, and quick to bark. In Omaha's close-set neighborhoods, that alertness can annoy neighbors without early socialization and calm-greeting practice. Herding instincts may show up as nipping at children or chasing bikes and joggers along the trails, so reward-based training and a secure leash matter.
